On June 15th the Teaching Council will take part in a special #edchatie discussion around the new national framework for teacher's learning, Cosán. The links below will bring you to the full document as well as some shorter guides to Cosán. Take a read of them and then click on the link below them to add your question about it for the #edchatie discussion. A vote will b to chose the "top 4" questions for the hour-long discussion on Monday. Read more about it below.

You can read the full Cosán framework document here.

A short guide to Cosán is available here.

Cosán at a glance.

The final 4 questions for tonight's #edchatie discussion, in order, are:

Q.1 -> Who is going to fund CPD? Cuts to salaries/reduced salary scales mean teachers cannot afford it. (82 votes)

Q.2 -> #edchatie could be considered as informal CPD. How can this & similar be recognised? (63 votes)

Q.3 -> How is the TC proposing to track a teacher's CPD? (54 votes)

Q.4 -> Will international MOOCs be recognised as valid CPD for recognition? (41 votes)

Here's how the #edchatie discussion on June 15th (tonight) will run:

  • At 8.30pm, we'll hold the usual introductions and then quickly move on to posting Q.1 for discussion.
  • When discussing Q.1, please make sure that you include the hashtag #edchatie as well as the text "Q.1" in your tweets.
  • After 15 minutes and because we have four questions/topics to discuss, we'll move on to Q.2.
  • Again, when discussing Q.2. please make sure to include the hashtag #edchatie as well as the text "Q.2" in your tweets at this time.
  • By 9pm we'll move on to Q.3 and then finish off with Q.4 for the final 15 minutes of the discussion.

Take a read of Cosán and then join in with the conversation tonight on #edchatie from 8.30-9.30pm.

Remember -> All tweets should contain the hashtag #edchatie and the relevant question number in order to be collated into the transcript of the discussion, which will be published online the next day.
