Welcome to the #edchatIE wiki.
This is a space that was built to house the transcripts of the weekly online chats (Monday nights 8.30 - 9.30pm) of Irish educators as they discuss all things education. I say educators because the weekly chats involve primary and post primary teachers and third level (college & university) lecturers too.
The #edchatIE discussions take place online, using Twitter as the medium.

How the #edchatIE discussion works:
Here's some information that might be of use to help you get the most from and also contribute to #edchatIE
First off, here's the general way all edchats and #edchatIE around the world tend to operate:
1. A poll is set up to look for input from all on topics for discussion.
2. Once that poll has closed the topics are set and then put up for a vote.
3. The topic that gets the most votes will become the topic for the edchat on the chosen night.
All of the above is tagged in Tweets using the #edchatIE hashtag. Follow it to get involved!
How the Monday night #edchatIE runs:
1. From 8.30pm - 9.30pm #edchatIE opens with introductions from all and then the topic with the most votes is discussed.
2. Always include the hashtag #edchatIE in all of your tweets. They are all collated after the chat and compiled into a summary transcript of the discussion.
